then speak of Rutland and YOUR experience, dont just make cultural attacks on Vermonters as a whole. I have been coming to Vermont for 17 years, own property for the last 7 in the rural area of Southern Vermont. I have never experienced a racist word, or act towards me. I know other interracial couples in the area who live and run businesses in rural vermont and they dont have problems with rural vermonters.
so it is not fair to paint a negative viewpoint of native vermonters based only on your experience--just say in your encounters.
I could say all Bostonians(rich and poor) are racist based on the treatment I have had there and the same with New Yorkers or Philadelphians but I know it is not all of them, just a minority.

you wont dignify it?? Sir, read your own post, you are the one who brought up racism and called the native vermonters woodchucks and racists. So dont think you were being dignified.

OK friends...
Let's all take a few deep, cleansing breaths and return to the subject at hand.

What is GREAT about Vermont?

Ready, set...GO!

I know I am looking forward to yet another change of season and the forecast for the next ten days looks great with the thaw and freeze cycle to begin. Still time to enjoy snowshoeing and get ready for the upcoming hiking season. I have been to all corners of the state and I have to say I enjoy meeting folks who have been here a long time and getting their impressions on how things have changed as well the appreciation for especially the things that have not changed. Personally I like folks who raise an eyebrow when they are inundated with the progressive spiel and don't display the bobblehead deer in the headlights look. Vermont is by far the safest state I have ever lived in. My only concern is whether I can look ten to twenty years into future and be able to afford to stay.

Taking early morning bike rides under the full moon at dusk..........Absolutely beautiful ! A cross between a Norman Rockwell painting and a Hallmark snow-globe you would shake and stare at as child !

Common you wont miss taking out the sled and going up the fresh groomed trails when the snow is gone? OK Mud season can be fun too. But fall and winter are by far my favorite VT seasons. Hunting and riding.
