Looks a bit open for rainforest. Growth should be so rampant and profuse in a rainforest, that it's not really possible to see more than a few metres.

I don't see any informative posts here anymore, this has become another "stupid things people say about weather" thread.

I think we weather forumers are aware that Russia really has a summer, Norway a temperate rainforest, and Melbourne is not a desert.

And don't even think about educating anyone, as nobody random will never just wander upon this subforum.

Looking at the pictures, it's hard to conclude that Norway has a rain forest.

Hmmm for here Florina for its snow and cold temperatures and less hot summer and Ioannina for the rain, gloominess etc.. Generally North and Central Greece is not always sunny, warm as many people imagine because they think about our islands or Athens when they refer to Greece. And me personally I am impressed with many climates on Earth that are out of my imagination.

Well, that's you. You don't seem to have any knowledge outside your isolated islands whatsoever.

I think it's more about challenging assumptions (something I think doesn't happen enough on here, and in life in general)

It's rainforest because some definition says so, yet it lacks the features of rainforest. But it will still get called a rainforest. Seems to be more of an obsession with rigid definitions, than what happens in the real world.

I've got a good broad knowledge -just won a $100 bar tab at a pub quiz last thursday.

You have a point. I always imagined Spain as the stereotypical Mediterranean climate but I bet a lot of people think it's like super hot

They can't even grow those in subtropical eastern US. Cold extremes probably kill them off. What low temp can they take?
