Having grown up in California where it was dry heat, I found it to be extremely miserable one year when spending time in the summer in Chicago, and New Orleans. I'll stick to the dry heat, thank you. Oddly enough here in the Northwest despite our 60" of annual rainfall, our heat is dry, and limited normally to July and August.

I grew up in the Washington, DC area, and always hated it, and not just the weather. I decided once and for all that I was going to get out, and I did. I took the plunge in January of 1988, and moved to Tucson. I loved the dry heat and low humidity, but the job market wasn't good, so I moved to Sacramento, stayed there for nine years, then moved to San Diego, have been here for almost 20 years, and can't see myself living anywhere else.

It would have to be insane getting in a car that sits in the sun all day in the southwest if it is 110f outside.

I hated my 2019 C7 Vette with a clear top as it was like 140f inside.

I talked to lots of people who lived in Naples and the humidity didn't bother them. Lots of people live there, many by choice.
I've never lived in a "dry" area so I can't imagine having a summer where the humidity wasn't suffocating. I've lived on Long Island, eastern North Carolina and now I'm back in SW Florida. I hate the humidity and when it's humid and you're sweating your perspiration doesn't evaporate which helps cool you. I've gotten heat exhaustion a few times now so I don't do anything outdoors in the middle of the day in the summer unless it revolves around a pool.

If I had the money I would become a snowbird and spend May-November out in Colorado where my oldest just recently moved.

I worked in Arlington, VA for awhile and hated the climate there....cold in the winter and super humid and miserable in the summer. I have no idea why some people like climates like that but to each his own.

I think Tucson has a great climate but San Diego is IMO, the best climate in the USA and makes paying extra to live there almost worth it. But I think as you travel south down the Baja, the climate is even better, for example, Cabo is better than San Diego in my opinion.

San Diego has such a perfect climate. I’d love to live there one day, but the housing costs are very prohibitive.

Maybe I'm unusual but I like the humid heat here in Atlanta. I like how if you leave a towel outside to dry, it'll be mildewed in 30 minutes. I like the dense vegetation spewing pollen that clouds the air so you can't breathe. I like heat stroke. I like sitting on my patio dripping sweat into my iced tea while roving hordes of mosquitoes leave large welts all over my skin. What's not to love?
