So I tend to sweat easily.

I was in a meeting today and starting sweating a bit . I was holding the so sure it was nerves as it's happened before, although not often at all. I think it was def noticeable. I have many meetings with my co workers and it's only happened one other time.

I know the owners and co workers view me as very competent and a integral part of the company.

But when something like this happens it's got to make them perceive you a little differently. Let's be honest.

Anyway, I know the saying "never let them see you sweat".

It really does give a perception of being weak and not a leader.

Sucks. Just venting. ..lol

Let's be real. It's a sign of nerves(at least in my case) or slight panic. Not a good look at all.

My friend has issues with armpit sweat after she had to have lymph nodes removed on one side. She gets SweatBlock Clinical wipes off Amazon. They really work!

I don't agree that sweating is a sign of weakness. Leader or not, it can be a sign of feeling out of your depth or not being prepared. You can fix that. Rehearsals in advance will help you learn how to calm yourself. Find a supportive coworker to practice presentations with or to run meeting scenarios. Find a presentation style that works for you. Be sure of your material. Prepare an agenda, send it out to the attendees, and then stick to it. Those things will help relax you so you won't sweat as much.

You have advance warning of these meetings, correct? Try dressing differently on those days so perspiration dries faster and won't be as obvious on your clothing. Don't know what your workplace dress code is, but opt not to wear the 100% polyester suit or the heavier weight snugger fit shirt on meeting days. Keep a fresh spare in your office and change right before the meeting. Opting for a cold beverage instead of the ubiquitous hot coffee can help keep you cooler too.

Can you adjust the meeting room's airflow or temperature? Adjust the thermostat before the meeting starts to adjust for more bodies. You'll sweat less. Besides, a cooler room will keep the overly relaxed people awake longer .

Stay away from garlic the day off and the day before. Wear sporting clothes instead of regular underwear.

Sweat is a cooling mechanism, no more no less.
Has NOTHING to do with being weak, nothing to do with not being a leader.

I disagree …respectfully. If your confident you don’t produce nervous sweat. If you going to be a leader you need to be confident.
