I think people forget that they can create a reputation for themselves that has nothing to do with their skills and abilities. A squeaky wheel can become such a headache it no longer gets the grease. It ends up sitting unused behind the shed because no one wants to deal with it any longer. Seen it happen a number of times.

There aren't infinite number of companies with the same level of projects everywhere. Especially here in Florida. I don't want to move back to CA, and no, don't suggest me to put up with discrimination just because I'm not willing to go back into poverty in CA (below a few million $$ assets it is poverty in the Silicon Valley).
Your comments are not useful. It would be useful to talk about how to counteract people who discriminate. If you don't have ideas for that, then you can skip this thread. Cynicism and victim-blaming is not welcome. If you are not smart enough to come up with solutions, then you are just dragging down others who have problems to deal with already.

You should contact an attorney who deals with discrimination and talk to them instead of this forum.

You are wanting legal advice, which no one here can give.

Start writing everything down.
Do you have witnesses?
Any proof?
Go to HR. Refer to your work manual/handbook from the company.
Get an attorney.

All together - not very pleasant, stressful and difficult to prove. Probably easier to quit and start fresh somewhere else. Not saying you should do that, but it is probably less of a hassle.

It is going to depend on many specific facts, and could range anywhere from no action taken to being fired. In general, if the discrimination is easy to prove, blatant and intentional, HR at most companies would impose some sort of sanction (written warning, demotion, or termination). If it is hard to prove, unintentional, or ambiguous, they might not get any action taken at all.

Consult your company handbook and policies for specifics.
