Description: Aurora’s only full-­service hospital, this facility consists of three campuses: the Main campus, the North campus, and the Centennial Medical Plaza. The center as a whole employs nearly 1,200 people and is licensed for 346 beds. The Main campus hosts among other things a Level II trauma center, the Women’s Center, and the Colorado Spine Center. A new 84-bed tower for cardiovascular patients was added in 2009. The North campus includes the Sleep Disorders Center and the Geriatric Psychiatry/Senior Care Center. The Centennial campus has day-­surgery services, and imaging and lab services.

Description: Sky Ridge covers 57 acres and serves residents of Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Parker, Castle Rock, and Littleton. Description: This is one of two state psychiatric hospitals, charged with providing treatment and services for the mentally ill. It was founded in 1961 and has 410 staff members. Fort Logan houses the statewide program for all deaf and hearing-­impaired clients with mental illness. Areas of specialty fall in three treatment divisions: children and adolescents, adult psychiatry, and geriatrics. An inpatient-­only facility with 153 inpatient and 20 residential beds, this hospital is based on a treatment team approach—a patient’s team consists of a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a social worker, psychiatric nurses, and mental-­health clinicians. The team also has special-­education teachers for children and adolescents.

Description: This privately owned nonprofit has been serving youth awaiting placement into permanent residential homes since 1971. Comitis is a short-­term residential care facility with a small emergency housing area for homeless kids. It helps get people off the streets and into low-­income housing. Its main mission is to care for runaway and throwaway kids.
