1. Kitchen Little

City: Mystic, CT
Category: Restaurants
Telephone: (860) 536-2122
Address: 135 Greenmanville Rd.

Description: For over 30 years Flo Klewin has served the finest and most interesting breakfasts in Mystic. In this little blue shack by the Mystic River you can find great, atypical breakfast options like the Portuguese Fisherman, spicy chourico and linguica scrambled with eggs, peppers, onions, and jalapeño cheese in a special sauce, on a Portguese roll. Flo uses cage-free eggs from the best sources, and the difference to your omelets is obvious. Kitchen Little is open daily at 6:30 a.m., and also has lunch options Mon through Fri, like lobster rolls and other sandwiches. But they are known for their breakfasts, and with options like the pancake sandwich (seriously), you can’t go wrong.

2. Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream

City: Mystic, CT
Category: Restaurants
Address: 2 W. Main St.

3. Bravo Bravo

City: Mystic, CT
Category: Restaurants
Telephone: (860) 536-3228
Address: 20 E. Main St.

Description: Looking for a romantic night out in Mystic after a day seeing the aquarium and seaport? Check out Bravo Bravo’s small restaurant near the bridge. A wall of large windows overlooks the main street in Mystic—allowing diners to watch the hustle of the world pass by while sipping on oversize martinis or exceptional wines and feasting on creative pastas, fresh fish, and homemade desserts. Black-and-white photographs fill the walls of the bar, which flows into a dining room adorned with flickering white candles reflecting in mirrors placed throughout. The company that opened Bravo Bravo also opened the more casual Azu down the street, if you’re in the mood for a more crowded and gregarious dining experience.

4. Mystic Pizza

City: Mystic, CT
Category: Restaurants
Telephone: (860) 536-3700
Address: 56 W. Main St.

Description: As the hill rises to the west from the Mystic River, you will find the sign for one of the most famous restaurants in the state, Mystic Pizza. Don’t expect the interior to look like the one in the Julia Roberts film; those scenes were filmed in nearby Stonington. But that’s a good thing, because after a 1996 expansion, the restaurant has a lot more space for you and your family. The pizza itself lies somewhere between thin and thick crust, and defies most categorizations in other ways as well. The unique location and name of the eatery inspired the writing of the film, and the film has inspired the continued success of the eatery (and its new line of grocery store pies). But guess what? The “slice of heaven” pizza is really good, too.
