Description: This enormous hotel and conference center about a mile from Stamford town center is a reasonable deal with all the posh amenities of a more expensive hotel. With 448 rooms, they have the space to be pet friendly, and offer both smoking and nonsmoking options. There’s a pool, a gym, a restaurant, and a very nice bar area. The club lounge and the atrium are particularly attractive, and from the look of the non-room areas, you would think this would be a much more expensive hotel. Instead, it offers nice rooms for reasonable prices, especially for Fairfield County. They probably make all their money on the many conferences held here, and you can reap the benefits of this. If you’re staying in the far southwest of the state and looking for a bargain, don’t look any farther.

Description: The Stamford Suites is an all-efficiency hotel with 750 square feet of living space in each of the 45 suites. This is the place to stay if you’re relocating to Connecticut or staying a long time as a business traveler, because your room is actually a small apartment, with kitchen, bedroom, living room, and bath (with either king, queen, or 2 double beds). All the suites are nonsmoking, though there is a designated area for smoking in the hotel. There’s a laundry service and a gym, and hot tubs in the rooms. The Suites are located right downtown in Stamford, so if you don’t have a car here, you can walk to everything you need.
