Description: This group organizes travel to numerous destinations, with both single-day and extended trips. Past trips have gone for at least a week to destinations including Pennsylvania Dutch country, Niagara Falls, Branson, Mackinac Island, and the Great Smoky Mountains. There have also been shorter trips of two or three days to closer destinations in surrounding states like Minnesota and Missouri. Day trips have gone all over Iowa, including to historic sites like the Herbert Hoover Presidential Museum as well as antiquing and theater excursions and visits to working farms and wineries.Travel is usually by bus, although some extended trips include air travel. Rates are very reasonable and a deposit is required. Accommodations and some meals are included in trip fees. Trips are open to anyone age 21 and over but are marketed more to seniors. Trips are listed in the Senior Bulletin and through the Senior Services of Polk County website.
