Description: Located on the ground floor of Hy-Vee Hall at the Iowa Events Center, this large, open room is largely focused on Iowa athletics, with extensive displays on football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, and other sports. The achievements of Iowa high school and college athletes are highlighted in the many interactive displays and video presentations, including a 180-degree panoramic theater that lets viewers relive some of Iowa’s most storied sporting events. Other video screens contain interviews with legendary Iowa players. In an adjoining room are sporting games, including a quarterback challenge where participants try to complete as many passes as possible, and a basketball free-throw challenge (a limited number of free game tokens are provided to visitors). There are also displays on the achievements of Iowans in other fields, like science, music, and the arts. Free parking is available in the lot right outside the entrance. Closed Sunday.
