Description: Founded in 1976, Lutheran High School of Indianapolis now has about 275 students in grades 9 through 12. Affiliated with the Missouri Synod of the Lutheran Church, the school holds a first-class commission from the Indiana Department of Education. Along with a core curriculum, Lutheran offers sports including baseball, basketball, cheering, football, soccer, tennis, volleyball, cross-country, golf, softball, track and field, and weightlifting. Extracurricular activities include academic competition teams, Civil Air Patrol, chamber choir, drama, forensics, men’s chorus, jazz band, National Honor Society, student council, wind ensemble, women’s chorus, and yearbook. Description: Created in 1970 with the merger of Park School for boys and Tudor Hall for girls, Park Tudor is an independent private school for children age three through grade 12, with a student body of almost 1,000. Description: Located on the south side of the city, Roncalli High School was the result of a merger of two other schools—John F. Kennedy Memorial High School and Bishop Chartrand High School. When the two schools were merged in 1969, the new school was named Roncalli High School by the students, in memory of Angelo Roncalli, more widely known as Pope John XXIII. A four-year, interparochial school, Roncalli has been recognized three times as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education. Tuition is about $7,275. The student body totals about 1,120.

Description: Founded in 1985 by parents who wanted an advanced curriculum for their children, Sycamore School is the only private school in the state of Indiana and one of the few schools in the nation where all academics and activities are designed for gifted children in preschool through grade eight. Instruction is differentiated and students are able to work at their own ability level, no matter how high. Classes are not only accelerated but enriched with hands-on projects, special speakers, and field trips. Description: Since 2002, Todd Academy has been guiding students through the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) Span program. Description: Indiana Wesleyan University’s main campus is located in Marion, midway between Indianapolis and Fort Wayne.
