Description: Ivy Tech Community College is the nation’s largest statewide community college with single accreditation. It is the state’s largest public post-secondary institution, serving more than 130,000 students a year. Created by the Indiana General Assembly to provide “occupational training of a practical, technical, and semi-technical nature,” Ivy Tech was formerly known as Indiana Vocational Technical College. Description: A private four-year institution, Marian is a Catholic and Franciscan university that grew out of the vision of Sister Theresa Hackelmeier and the Sisters of St. Francis in Oldenburg, Indiana. They established a school in Oldenburg in 1851. Founded in Oldenburg in 1936, Marian College moved to Indianapolis in 1937. On July 1, 2009, Marian College became Marian University.
