Description: Dedicated to fashioning young men and women (the school became coed in 1987) to be of high character and deep compassion, this private high school continues the Jesuit Catholic tradition of discipline, academic excellence, student involvement, and community service, all focused on the greater glory of God. With a student-teacher ratio of 10:1, students receive individual attention. In addition to offering honor’s level courses in English, mathematics, languages, and science, the school offers several Advanced Placement (AP) classes and has a Scholar’s Program in both Latin and math/science. Unique to this school: each student is required to perform at least 100 hours of approved community service before graduating. Known for its excellent faculty and curriculum, Loyola College Prep is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
