Media - Shreveport, Louisiana

Media

The citizens of Shreveport and Bossier are as diverse a population as possible when it comes to accessing media. Some people just cannot devour enough news and information, subscribing to the local newspaper and magazines, in addition to national publications (depending on your zip code, you can have the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal home-delivered). Other people channel surf via cable and satellite, comparing and contrasting varying accounts of the same newsworthy event. Computer-savvy citizens rely on the Internet for information, music, and more. And yet another group of people prefer to garner their knowledge from the Shreveport Times (founded in 1871), local television programming guides, and the Bible. Radio remains a popular source of information for all citizens, with some people staying glued to public radio while others wait for the news bites between songs or tune in to one of the AM talk radio shows. Regardless of what type of media person you happen to be, I think you will find this chapter helpful.
