Description: It would not be an overstatement to suggest that Albert Colwell “A. C.” Steere (1879–1930) built the historical neighborhoods of Shreveport. To honor his work as both a real estate developer and philanthropist, this park, as well as the hacienda-style elementary school that rests on its border, bear his name. This 17-acre space has two lighted ball fields and two lighted tennis courts, making it a popular destination for persons of all ages. It also offers one of the region’s only Boundless playgrounds, a modular system of inclusive play areas so all children, regardless of physical abilities, can have fun together. A 3⁄8-mile walking and running trail snakes around the park, passing places where families can have an old-fashioned picnic. And when the weather becomes warm, everybody will enjoy the “sprayground” water feature.
