Perhaps you will be present when another patron uses a set of pulleys and levels to lift their body off the floor. For the mathematically-inclined, you will learn how numbers make our lives possible. Let your eyes move skyward as you explore the mysteries of the cosmos. Try landing the Space Shuttle in one of the on-site simulators. In the Red River Gallery, watch Becky’s Red River Adventure, a short film about the plants and animals of the area, then meet some of the members of our natural world. Even toddlers have an area dedicated to teaching them the fundamentals. Learn how a house is built or head to the Creature Corner to pet a gecko or visit with a Madagascar hissing cockroach. Of course, you will want to explore the Space Dome Planetarium, which offers five different shows and several live performances, showing you the wonderful mysteries of the universe.View a film in the amazing IMAX Dome Theater, the only one of its kind in Louisiana. The 60-foot dome provides a first-person experience, putting the viewer in the act. So whether it is exploring the undersea world of sharks or coming face-to-face with a T-Rex, you will never forget this incredible cinematic event. Different shows appear daily, with new productions introduced on a regular basis. With 92,000 square feet of space, you can easily spend much of a day learning about our world. The world-class staff welcome all types of groups and functions, including school groups, birthday parties, and overnight adventures.
