Description: Four of the five rooms at this Victorian-style inn are named after flowers (Jasmine, Moonflower, Geranium, Beachrose, and Loft Cottage). Each room is different—a white wrought-iron bed in one room, a four-poster canopied bed in another. Some have antiques; all are filled with flowers. Each room has a private bath, and two rooms have whirlpools. The Loft Cottage is fashioned from the old stables, with a full kitchen, living room, and loft bedroom. In keeping with its name, the Wildflower Inn specializes in “edible flower cuisine,” harvesting blooms from its own gardens for its award-winning dishes. Guests can sample this floral fare in a homey gathering room warmed by a fireplace, sampling breakfast specialties that have earned mention on the PBS series Country Inn Cooking. Children over 12 are welcome, and those interested in staying a while should inquire about the availability of long-term rentals.
