Accommodations - Kansas City, Missouri

Accommodations

Our reputation as the Heartland extends to lodging choices travelers will find in Kansas City. It could be the ahh-inspiring decor of the Bridal Suite, a bird’s eye view of our skyline, or just a heart-felt greeting when you check in. Good manners abound, yes, but you’ll also find great accommodations. Your footsteps will echo across lobbies lined with enough marble to rebuild ancient Rome, and when one hotel boasts of running water, it’s referring to the five-story waterfall to your left. Plenty of famous folks have registered at our front desks over the years, including movie stars and rock stars, glamour queens and gangsters—Al Capone used one area resort as his hideout—and more than our share of presidents. Harry S. Truman, in fact, showed the world he was still commander-in-chief, despite the headlines, at one of our downtown hotels. And if you think you saw Tina Turner, Sir Elton John, or Oprah just now in the lobby, you’re probably right. Our new Sprint Center has been a magnet for the world’s most celebrated entertainers and celebrities.

There are rooms to fit every taste and pocketbook, from ultraposh retreats and bed-and-breakfast inns to budget-pleasing motels and even campsites. And if you’re traveling with Fido, you’ll be pleased to know that several of the larger hotels offer special beds and other treats.

Naturally for a city our size, every hotel, motel, and extended-stay chain is represented—just right for ratcheting up your frequent-travel points. In addition to these national names, we offer some one-of-a-kind lodging choices. To see a complete roster of available accommodations, check out the Hotel and Motel Association of Greater Kansas City’s Web site at www.kansascitylodging.org.
