Description: This long and narrow 68-acre greenway stretches along the natural bends and limestone bluffs of the Missouri River, providing wonderful views from its hiking trails, picnic shelters, and playgrounds. Most of the amenities are just across a turn-of-the-20th-century truss bridge. You’ll find lots of folks enjoying ripe peaches and other fresh produce from the farmers’ market alongside the trail. The park hosts several festivals throughout the year, including the Parkville Jazzfest and Christmas on the River. For even more adventure, head to the Parkville Nature Sanctuary, which offers 115 acres of woods and wetlands, a waterfall, a beaver colony, and a glimpse of the area’s storied past as a river town. You’ll find a trailhead just north of the soccer field parking lot. And if you’ve had enough of the great outdoors, head back to Parkville’s Main Street, where shops, galleries, and a wide array of restaurants await.
