Description: For decades, Kansas Citians and tourists alike have have considered this space the most romantic restaurant in town. It could be the piano music coming from the lounge, the private booths, or the food that can make even the toughest customer starry-eyed. A recent makeover may remind you of a red-velvet box of Valentine chocolates. Adding to its lovey-dovey ambience is the fact that the Raphael Hotel’s lobby is just a few steps away. Executive chef Peter Hahn keeps the menu fresh with items borrowed from Asian, French, Italian, and even Southwest cuisines. One of his signature entrees is a New Zealand rack of lamb, but you can also try a flavorful bison ribeye or lighter diver scallops. Desserts can be decadent or whimsical, as with the Reese’s Dream with peanut butter mousse enrobed in chocolate ganache. Or there’s always that chocolate waiting on your pillow upstairs. The lounge offers tasty appetizers along with some of the city’s best musical performers from Tues through Sat. Lunch and dinner are served Mon through Sat. Breakfast is served daily.
