Description: If the name doesn’t get you, just driving by the beautiful two-story Broadway Bank–turned–antiques shop with intriguing treasures peeking through the windows will. For decades, Architectural Salvage has been collecting interesting and priceless pieces from razed buildings, churches, and movie palaces and selling them to interior decorators, set designers, and savvy shoppers. Here’s where to find massive carved wooden doors, rusted gates, salvaged church pews, stained-glass windows, Tara-sized porch columns, discarded fireplace mantels, and red velvet fold-down seats. You can spend hours just digging through boxes of doorknobs and cases of rescued hardware. Pace yourself, and leave the nice clothes at home; it can get pretty grungy here. But to find that perfect gargoyle for your garden, what’s a little 80-year-old dust? The store is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thurs through Sat or by appointment. Owner Rick Bettinger may have just the baluster or newel post you need.
