Description: Locust Grove isn’t an antiques mall, but with its barnlike size it may as well be. It’s amazing that two partners own the entire inventory, which is part antique, part new, all sensational. Kate Parsons, a talented interior designer, teamed up with daughter Christy Shafer to create small vignettes of themed treasures to make browsing fun and collecting a breeze. A recent walk-through spied a pair of carved hatchets, a tapestry throw, 200-year old olive jars from Turkey, an antique bedroom set, vintage linens, and needlepoint pillows. They also have some of the most incredible faux florals and botanicals available, including dried wreaths. Locust Grove is definitely worth the 40-mile drive out of town, especially if you’re heading to Weston for the afternoon or weekend. The shop is open every day but Mon.
