Description: Opened in September 2004, this private school for elementary and middle school students of all nationalities is led by administrators and teachers from the United Kingdom and international schools worldwide. Charlotte is the school’s fifth location, following Houston, Boston, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. Ages 3 through 11 attend classes with a maximum enrollment of 20 students in each class. Following a U.K. curriculum, students learn core subjects but focus on skill level rather than grade level. Nursery students learn to read before kindergarten, and students throughout the school take classes in art and world studies. In addition to a rigorous curriculum, the school stresses a quiet and courteous atmosphere. British sports such as cricket, soccer, and rounders also are played at the school.
