Acc Footballchampionship Game - Spectator Sports - Charlotte, North Carolina

City: Charlotte, NC
Category: Spectator Sports
Address: 800 South Mint St.

Description: Looking to find a suitable home for its football championship game, the Atlantic Coast Conference is shifting the matchup to Charlotte for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. The ACC title game was created in 2005 when the league expanded to 12 teams, but it did not sell out during three years in Jacksonville and two in Tampa, and the atmosphere at either location was not what conference officials envisioned. So, Charlotte put together a strong bid to host the title affair for two years, a bid backed by local politicos and business leaders. Hopes are the game will find a permanent place on the Queen City’s sports landscape.Bank of America Stadium will be the venue for the games, slated for Dec. 4, 2010, and Dec. 3, 2011. Events surrounding the game will include an ACC coaches and awards luncheon; the ACC Night of Legends, which will honor great football players in league history; an ACC FanFest; a commissioner’s brunch; and a pre-game pep rally. Ticket prices are $25 and $40 for upper level seats and $70 and $90 for lower level seats. Club Level tickets are $150 and $175 and only available through ticket packages.
