Description: This is not a long course, but it is difficult because it plays like a links-style course. Rosewood was built around 60 acres of protected wetlands preserve, and if you don’t hit the ball straight, it will end up in the tules. Once the ball enters the wetlands, you are not allowed to retrieve it, so it’s important to bring plenty of balls when you play this course. The fairways are flat and open, and the greens are medium size and on the slow side. Water comes into play on every hole, making this a challenging course. The greens fees are some of the cheapest in the area, and it’s popular with the locals. The signature eighth hole is a treacherous par 4, with a bunker and lake lining the entire right side and a lake lining the left. An accurate drive is a must, making the second shot to the large, elevated green easy. One par 3 is a blind tee shot because the tules have grown so tall that they completely block the view to the green. This course, designed by Brad Benz and built in 1991, is one of the top-conditioned municipal courses in the West because of its easy access to year-round water.
