The menu just oozes with scrumptious chocolate delicacies, all made on the premises from Grand Cru chocolate, which is considered the finest in the world. You can splurge on mouthwatering desserts, such as chocolate fondue or triple-chocolate mousse. I highly recommend the chocolate lava cake with a warm molten center, served with ice cream.Although the Chocolate Bar has been a hot spot for satisfying your sweet tooth for several years, it recently began serving lunch with small plates such as seafood and vegetable frites, grilled satay, sturgeon caviar, and tofu spring rolls as well as regular-size meal offerings. I especially recommend the chicken tomato soup en croute and the Caesar salad, which is nestled in a crisp parmesan bread bowl. The restaurant also has a full selection of wines and speciality drinks, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic.Located at the busy intersection of Arlington and California Avenues, the downtown location is chic and contemporary with outdoor seating (weather permitting) around a bubbling waterfall. The South Virginia location is at Summit Sierra Mall. Both restaurants are open daily from 11:30 a.m. until midnight or later. A third location is scheduled to open in the village at Northstar-at-Tahoe.
