Description: Deerfield Lake Resort has four heated cabins, each with one large room, two double beds and futon couch, a kitchenette, private bath, satellite TV, and Wi-Fi. It’s a year-round resort, and there’s always something to do here. Deerfield Reservoir is next door, with great fishing in both summer and winter, and Hill City is just 14 miles away. Winter, however, is the resort’s busiest season, as the property is adjacent to popular snowmobile trails; you can even rent a snowmobile here. From mid-Dec through Mar breakfast is available. They also offer canoe and 4-wheeler rentals, horse corrals and a country store for essentials and fuel.

Description: Sixteen housekeeping cabins share this quiet, secluded property in the tall pines. Each has a private bath and sleeps from two to eight people. Sunday Creek runs through the property, and you can select a cabin that is accessible by a little bridge across the creek. Fire pits, grills, and a playground are available, and pets are allowed (please inquire). There’s a hot tub and sundeck by the creek, and you can hike on the forest service land that surrounds Harney Camp. The cabins are open from Apr through Oct. Call to make reservations.

Description: You can get your rest in rustic little cabins with their backdrop of pine forest, yet they’re only 1 mile south of Hill City. There are seven one-bedroom cabins, one guest room, and four two-bedroom cabins with fireplaces to choose from. Some have kitchenettes with basic utensils, coffeepot, toaster, and outside grill and picnic table. Linens and towels are provided. Your pet is welcome in some rooms at an additional charge. There is cable television, Wi-Fi, a playground for the kids, and a hot tub. The George S. Mickelson Trail is across the highway. Call for reservations.
