Description: This is a relatively new community of luxury apartments, condos, office buildings, and 230,000 square feet of retail shops and restaurants in an open-air setting. It doesn’t have all of the mall regulars but does offer an Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, Coldwater Creek, Jos. A. Bank, and Talbots, among other upscale retailers. There are also a number of eateries, including Aromas, Rockefeller’s, and Taste Unlimited.

Description: The mall was extensively renovated in 2005, adding a Dick’s Sporting Goods and Borders Book & Music. It is the only enclosed mall remaining on the Peninsula. Dillard’s, Macy’s, and JCPenney are the anchors among the mall’s 120-plus stores.

Description: This giant is one of the top 100 independent garden centers in America, according to Nursery Retailer. They began in the mid 1940s with a small greenhouse and opened what is now a 10-acre facility in 1953. You can find all sorts of plants and pots here, as well as outdoor furniture and garden supplies. There’s even a cafe serving breakfast and lunch, using fresh herbs from their own greenhouses.
