Jalabi; a Indian donut may be sold at grocery store. Do cover the Jalabi that is displayed on counter next to cashiers counter. Do monitor customers to use tongs for service of donuts. Jalabi donuts are made in an approved facility out of Sacramento and are sold in a disposable aluminum pan. Aluminum pans are not re-used. These donuts may be sold under Grocery store permit and will not be required to submit for a Snackbar permit. No other open food item may be sold or served to public without PRIOR authorization from Health District. Please call area health inspector if store wants to add any other open food items for sale to public.lAll tongs will be properly washed; rinsed and sanitzed in two compartment sink in back office. Do test chlorine santizer to be at levels between 50-100 ppm.

Observed open food products made in California sold to public without proper labeling requirements. The name of product jalalbi and samosa observed displayed for sale without a sneezeguard. Food was covered with paper towels and plastic wrap. Food is to be taken home until approval from health authority. A snack bar permit may be required to sell open food products and a food protection manager may be required including all necessay construction requirements such as a 3 compartment sink and additional handsink.

Lights shielded properly in cold holding units.Restroom properly stocked.Grocery store has been selling a cooked vegetable dumpling and sweet donut made from.B. Indian Restaurant out of Stockton; CA. These foods are displayed on counters next to cashier's register and is self service using tongs. Grocery store is to cease and desist to sell these open food products until proper labeling of food is provided. Invoices must be retained for all food purchases. Grocery store has a two compartment sink but no handsink in back room. A mop sink is located in same room. Tongs used for open food are washed rinsed and sanitized at two compartment sink. Do acquire chlorine test strips for proper makeup of chlorine sanitizer to be at levels between 50-100 ppm.

Health inspector wants to inspect delivery of food to grocery store. Do call health inspector when delivery of meat and produce is being delivered. Health inspector observed all meat products in reach in freezer pre-packaged and frozen. Severl chicken products observed with manufacturer out of Austrailia and Canada with no USDA approved stamp. Health inspector will follow up with operator with approved source requirements. Do sell only "pre-packaged meats" only in grocery store.Owner Mr. Yogi Sidher picks up produce and meat on Wednesday and Friday mornings (either day) from Sacramento. Source of meat is from "Extel Corp" based out of Sacramento. Sales representative from Extel Corp. stated he would send fax of approved source of meat from boxes of meat observed from Rossdown Farms our to Canada that he sells in Sacramento to Mr. Yogi Sidher. Health inspector spoke to representative via telephone. Operator was able to provide invoices at tiem of inspection of produce and meat purchased from Extel Corp. Discussed with Mr. Sidher that pick up and transport of food require proper refrigeration. Operator will pick up food in a refrigerated truck or maintain product temperature at 40 F or lower. Parveen Sidher will call health inspector when next delivery is made by her husband for inspection. Do call 328-2682 when delivery truck arrives at grocery store.

All violations corrected at time of reinspection. Thank you. Owner/operator has made an improvement in the clutter of the non grocery part of store. Thermometers present in all cold holding reach in units and all recorded < 40 F. Discussed with operator to remove items not used in the business operations from facility. Grocery store has a large surplus of previously veiwed VHS tapes stored througout grocery store and in boxes stored on floor. Cardboard boxes are receptacles for vermin to inhabit. Do consider moving these items out and cleaning floors and perimeter of walls to prevent vermin harborage.
