Notes: No violations observed during the inspection. Discussed hand washing policy and employee sick policy. Ensure employees sick with vomiting; diarrhea; jaundice; stay out of work at least 48 hours after symptoms have stopped.-Restrooms clean and stocked.-Observed proper food storage and proper chemical storage.-All freezer cases and cooler cases were keeping products at the proper temperature.-Ice is from Schur Ice. Properly labeled.-Discussed complaint item received by WCHD of black beets in canned product. Canned items observed on the shelves were not damaged and the dates were good.-PCO is SteriTech on a monthly basis. No signs of pests or vermin. -Outside garbage stored properly.No other individuals have a CFPM certificate.Per manager no individuals have taken a CFPM exam and failed the exam within the past year.

All cold holding units checked Ok and recorded below 40 F.All food properly stored off ground.Scoops properly stored separately in bulk foods area.No chemicals stored next to food. All bread products is pulled 2 days before expiration date and donated to local shelters and churches.Grocery stored does not sell any distressed food items or damaged food products such as dented cans of food. Lighting shielded and thermometers present in all cold holding units. Trash compacter and carboard compacter area observed organized and free of loose debris.Walk in freezer floors are cleaned on a regular basis. Ice machines are cleaned on a regular basis and observed clean and sanitary.Grocery store has sign posted for service animals to be allowed in store. All other animals are allowed.Please have David Olmeda apply for his Washoe County Food Protection Manager Certificate. Please bring your passing test results; proof of completing an approved 16 hour food safety course; a picture ID and $28.00 to Washoe County Health located at 1001 E. Ninth Street in Reno. Please have this completed by 05/03/12.Discussed with operators to place secondary cold holding thermometers at all reach in cold holding units. This will assist in monitoring internal ambient cold holding temperatures and serve as a backup thermometer to external built in thermometers located outside of units. Reviewed disinfection procedures for public vomiting incident such as Norovirus prevention and disinfecting guidelines. Do use 1/2 cup of bleach to one gallon of water for disinfection. Reviewed exclusion period for ill employees with gastrointestinal illnesses. Employees cannot return to work until 48 hours from time of last incident. Employees have sick days and health benefits allocated to them.

All cold holding units recorded < 45 F. Discussed with operator to monitor cold holding produce case where pre-packaged salads are cold held. All cold holding units are wired into a cold holding alarm unit that signals when a cold holding unit fails. Grocery store has active pest control operator that services store once per month. Garbage compactor area observed tidy and no loose trash surrounding area. Grocery store has a no sales on damaged food products. No dented cans are sold to the public.Reviewed employee sick policy; all checked OK. Facility knows when to report to Health department regarding reportable illnesses and complaints.
