Waterfront Coastside Trail

California's warm, sunny climate makes it a great destination for those who love hiking and walking. The Waterfront Coastside Trail located in Half Moon Bay is one of the most scenic and invigorating trails in the area. There are a number of parking options for those who drive into the area and want to leave their car and hike. One of the biggest attractions of the trail is the number of nearby beaches. You can spend the morning hiking and then set up a picnic on the beach and enjoy the shore for the entire afternoon. Choose from Roosevelt, Dunes, Venice, Francis, or Poplar Beaches. The beaches all offer easy access because they are located right on Pacific Coast Highway. The town of Half Moon Bay is located on a peninsula about 30 miles from San Francisco. The main stretch of beach in the area features horseback and hiking trails, campgrounds, and seaside views. The town offers a variety of dining options including Ketch Joanne Restaurant and Harbor Bar and Sam's Chowder House. Sam's lobster roll was named one of the top five best sandwiches in the country by the Today's Show. There are a number of local wineries in the area, all just a short drive from the trail.
