Description: The Landmark Inn is a charming, small hotel conveniently set within walking distance of the Florence Events Center and the notably shoppable Old Town district. Not only will you find lovely views of the mountains, sand dunes, and Siuslaw River, but you will enjoy them from nicely decorated rooms, 12 in all, some suites with sitting rooms and kitchens, and spas. Guests may use a traditional Finnish cedar sauna that sits in a tiny pine grove away from the main building. The Landmark Inn was built in 1998 on top of a knoll above Old Town. Beware the steeply graded driveway, especially going down. The pavement bears the scars of hasty motorists who scraped the bottoms of their vehicles. And you can smoke outdoors only.

Description: The River House is not luxurious, but it is clean, quiet, and really friendly (they have cookies and coffee in the lobby for those who wander in), and sometimes that’s what you need the most. The River House is tucked under the bridge spanning the Siuslaw River in Florence; it’s just to the west of Old Town.
