I think "robots" could be a metaphor in that sentence.

This is different than anything else prior. Self-learning AI is scary. If we end up building something more intelligent than we are then there would be cause for concern. It's moving fast. I doubt if we will ever get there in my lifetime. The idea makes for good movie plots though.

It's actually many scientists themselves that have put fear into people. Here is Stephen Hawking talking about it can end civilization.

Even Elon Musk said AI could be more dangerous than nukes.

Yeah I guess you could say humans ARE like robots now, minus the intelligence aspect.

You scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not you could do it, you didn't stop to think if you should."

I'm not worried about jobs. I'm worried about trust. People will learn to trust and come to depend on it. That's the problem, IMO.

Yeah most people think of “The Terminator” and such when it comes to AI, but in reality, it’s more like when the government switches to digital currency and knows every penny you have and how you spent it.

Malicious AI that can attack computers in all new ways is another scary downside.

Everything that can be considered good, or progress can be the total opposite if it gets into the wrong hands. With humans being what they are, the latter is inevitable...

Government has been busy using AI.....to track down "misinformation"..aka information that doesn't agree with government agendas. This was done in Feb 2022...last year.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8648668/

Also Facebook, Google and Twitter used machine learning AI to remove "misinformation" about covid and covid vaccines.

I don't know about you but I would like to real all sides and all opinions.
I don't want a machine with a defined rule set filtering information for me.

A differing opinion is now "misinformation" and the people posting such are called conspiracy nuts.

All that heart stuff talked about early on....well that proved to be true.
