You might check out The Copper News, our weekly newspaper. They advertise most of the local jobs. Also, PPEP (387 6127) often has openings for people to help adult mentally disabled develop life skills. Best bet is to visit and check out opportunities. The Curley School project, previously mentioned, is building up the art community, which should lead to more opportunities for artists.

Thanks for the suggestions. We'll contact the paper and see if they will send us the classifieds job info. Otherwise, we had better schedule a visit! Seems like Ajo folks really like Ajo, so that's a good sign! Again, thanks for all tips!

Exclamation Ajo like Socorro NM?

I've never been to Ajo, but always wondered if it was like Socorro, NM. Just a small town out in the desert with a cheap living and enough unique people to make living there worthwhile . I'm planning on moving back to NM, but will definitely visit Ajo when I visit AZ. Always liked the Sonoran scenery.

Hey, all you guys are on here! Yeah, I thought you left for good. Sorry, off topic. Oh, and I know why you left, no need to say it.

Anyway, I just know Ajo is on my way to Rocky Point. Nice that it is so private though, I bet the nights are great out there. Stars galore!
I couldn't do it I don't think, but you never now, maybe I would like it.

aslanleon, I enjoyed your post.

I am retired and looking for a QUIET place to live away from all noise of lawn tractors, radios, traffic, etc.

Can I find the quiet I seek in Ajo?

John

How far of a drive is it from Buckeye to Ajo? My boyfriend are moving out that way because he got a job as a border patrol agent. I don't know if I'll be able to find a job there though, so I'm just wondering where I or he could commute from/to.
