You guys are missing the opportunity to educate a possible new NASCAR fan.

If he doesn't understand the strategy then there is probably not much that can be done for him.
As RT said "go for it!"

Is there a strategy, other than knowing when to make a pit stop?

As for the new kid, have him stap on 750 hp and make one of this circles at 160. He'll get the idea. Better yet, star him in a dirt late model and have him keep the pedal on the floor heading straight towards a concrete wall at 120 and make a 180. That'll get the blood pumping!
Ya gotta be a car junkie. Ya gotta get off on the smell of racing fuel. You have to have your insides shook by pure horsepower! YOU GOTTA LOVE SPEED!

As for the aero gripe. NASCAR is not the bad guy. All the teams are to blame here. Aero has become the primary tool to the teams. Some teams have cars in the wind tunnels weekly. The 2013 car is going to cut this dramatically. That doesn't mean the teams will slow down. They will just focus their efforts on the grey areas. NASCAR does a good job trying to curb advantages. Teams are just blowing tons of money on small advantages. Aero is about all they have to work with at the moment due to the box they are in with no more travel than they have. The COT cars with their splitters offers very little travel and the teams will use every mm they can get. The COT is a piece of S#*+ if you ask me. They were never meant to handle and it has put the teams on a tighter playing field. I can promise you, the drivers hate them, so hopefully 2013 will bring a good change.

Do you modify your own car? Can you put anything you want in it, or is it regulated? Also wouldnt you prefer if NASCAR had more twist and windy roads in it?

No, these are serious questions.

I can understand gearheads loving Nascar if each car was customized to be different. I also think more turns, sharper turns, right turns, windy roads, etc, would make it more exciting. Is every NASCAR race a circle, or do they have different tracks?
