are international flights better? (such as working a full 12 hour shift on air compared to on and off 2 hour flights, so pay would be better with less time worked)
also, on an international flight, is it the same such as the FA wont have enough time to enjoy the city, just land, help customers, shuttle, hotel, wake up, shuttle, work, in 10 hours? or do airlines let you stay a full day so you can explore the city (i would think not, in a business standpoint)
your post is very interesting, I liked how you put it into words as if I was going thru the BS or just trying to make 15-18k, the hard, suffering way.
As a starting FA, you likely won't get an international assignment. Those are reserved for senior flight attendants, and they love it since they can do all their assigned hours in one stint. For a starting FA - think of daily trips from Cincinnati to Little Rock or similiar "glamour". Yeah, I agree with everything here - terrible job, working in a stuffy metal tube for little pay.

I will agree the international flight are for the senior attendants. At my base you couldnt touch an international trip unless you've been there for at least 30years.Day turns were very senior too, you had to at least have 15 or more years to hold that. I was lucky, and got assigned a lot of international trips while on reserve. I got to know Amsterdam very well. I use to almost want to cry when they assigned me the 8 day asia trip and I ended up having to be purser because all the senior FA's declined to take the position. Only one of my layovers was 24hrs to satisfy one of the 24&7 rest rule, other then that my layover were between 12-18hrs.
IMO to enjoy being a FA you have to have the love of aviation itself. I love every minute of my job and I am not rude to the customers(at least the nice ones). I work for an International Airline so it took me about 5 years to get the USA London Route. I like it and I am going to be able to retire in a few months in my late 30's...not bad! SO not everything about being a FA is not bad! you just have to be realistic when starting!
