Yes it was. Especially nice to beat former Astro Andy Pettitte.

And in New York, too. Not real easy to do.

Houston is now 8-22 and they blew an incredible opportunity for a win Friday night. Veras blew a save after a one-run lead. The good news is that Bud Norris put in seven strong innings against a good Detroit offense. Castro went 0-for-5 and Altuve went 3-for-5.

So, the Astros can just try again tonight.

Astros win today to stop a losing streak. They've won today, 7-5, in Detroit. Houston's fielders lead the major leagues in double plays; they have 55 after today's contest.

Double plays are a function of allowing runners on base.

Nice extra-inning win for Astros over the Pirates, 4-2, to make a winner out of Jose Cisnero. Rubber game this afternoon.

And Reid Ryan, when all is said and done, will turn out to be the best hire the Astros have made in the last ten years. He had done really well with two minor league franchises. The move is already being lauded by several.

I agree. Hiring Ryan seems like a great move for the organization. Now, let's get Comcast in our homes!

Are there any Astros intensive fans on this thread?

By "intensive," I mean anyone that watches the game EVERY night and also watches the hometown pre and post game shows?

I need some help with a project and would love some input.

Quote my post or PM me for more information.

Well, the Astros didn't win today, but it was nice pitcher's duel between Lucas Harrell and Jeff Locke.
