And the Giants capitalize on the opportunity.

Melachon, the Giants costly new closer, came in and got the first two outs in the bottom of the 9th, then it was...

Double
Single, run scores
Single, runner to third
Single...winning run scores.

So, San Francisco which led all MLB last season in blowing leads, spent 75 million bucks to fix the problem and blew two leads on Opening Day.

Bumgarner walked in his only other pa, so his slash line for the year is a perfect 1.000/1.000/4.000....the highest any of those numbers can get.

Bandwagon Yankees fans are everywhere, I made that mistake once at a Rays game though will say the Red Sox games aren't a whole lot better. Of course when the Rays become division leaders and compete again at that level many will magically revert back to wearing Rays jerseys instead.

This morning Madison Bumgarner leads all MLB in home runs by a batter and strikeouts by a pitcher.

I don't know about that.
He's certainly a talented guy, but his tough guy demeanor isn't what I'd call fun, or entertaining, or, sometimes, even tolerable.

I'll stick with "fun" because afterall, I'm a fan and not his opponent facing him......I watch sports for fun. If it gets any more intense than that, I should probably do something else because being a spectator is about being entertained.

His demeanor isn't so much "tough guy" as it is "disinterested guy." Bumgarner treats all events the same, as though it was just another day at the office and nothing of special note took place. You never see him excited about anything. I think that he is one of those self contained people who is in no need of praise or criticism from others. He has his own set of standards and expectations in his mind which may or may not be related to the standards and expectations of the fans.
