What happened? Louisville's recruiting must be down. No 5 star prospects? I heard their "D" is abysmal.
New coach and no 5 star recruits.
They lost 3 in a row by one point to teams they should have beaten and 3 blow outs to ranked teams (Cincy is not ranked but usually pretty good)
A tough schedule and bad luck. Now they are down by almost 30 to ranked Maryland. Good thing is expectations must be very low by now. A win against anyone would be a positive step.
It was not that long ago that Chris Mack was the big coaching hire. Probably should have given him a little more time.

Records are made to be broken or to be approached.
Louisville's difficult start to the men's basketball season seemed to hit rock bottom on Tuesday in a 79-54 home loss to Maryland.
The Cardinals dropped to 0-7 on the season, joining this season's California Golden Bears as the only major conference teams in the past 40 years to start 0-7.
According to ESPN, it's the 2nd-longest losing streak to start a season in ACC history & Louisville's worst start since the 1940-41 season.

Damn, not a record you want to be associated with. I heard they missed out on getting Kentucky 2023 commits DJ Wagner and Aaron Bradshaw. That would have softened the blow. Hopefully they'll get some commits in the next cycle coming up early next year for 2023 talent. They need some bodies, stat!

They have a couple of 4 star recruits for next season. 33rd overall. Most of the 2023 players have landing spots. But the transfer portal will be wide open. They had the 24th best class this year and that did not help so far.
Look at how many road games Duke has played. And who they played.

Syracuse plays that game every year, Mop up out of the conference and go .500 in conference and sneak in with a 19-11 record, etc. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...yracuse-orange
Out of Syracuse first 14 games 2 are on the road. 2
Here is how a top ranked team falls far and barely getting 1 vote for the AP top 25.

Very impressive!
