Purdue big man and reigning Player of the Year Zach Edey is withdrawing from the NBA Draft and headed back to the Boilermakers for one last run. Edey announced his decision on Twitter, just hours before the deadline Wednesday night.
Yeah sadly he was born about 30 years too late. His game just doesnt work in today's NBA. Doesnt shoot the 3, not super athletic. I dont know if another year in college is going to change much unless he gets an outside shot, not the easiest thing to do. He might have better luck going overseas instead.

Plenty of horse trading going on before the draft. Plenty of options for the first 10 picks that I couldn't excerpt a particular paragraph to highlight. Peruse at your leisure.

With all the pullouts of big men - Edey, Ware, Sharp, Kalkbrenner, Dickinson -- this year's draft became significantly weak outside of Wemba. I like Anthony Black and GG Jackson but man, slim pickins. Maybe gamble with 7'2 Zvonimir Ivisic. Meanwhile, undrafted 7'2 Kai Sotto trying out with Dallas Mavericks.

Awesome, Kai. He deserves to be in camp and on that summer league team.

^ Mark Cuban likes to take risks on unknown players. He had signed 2 Indian big men (I think both Singh surname, not related) in the past though only 1 saw regular team action and it was like just under 1 minute of late game action.

Legit source said Dallas will give Kai a shot in the NBA Summer League to suit up with them if he takes their offer. NY Knicks is also in the mix and may also make a play for Kai's services in the Summer League. Let's see which of these 2 would firm up a good offer for Kai, maybe not in money, but in playing time this July.

Maybe we'll finally see a duel between Wemba vs Kai vs Chet this July?

I wonder if teams will be looking for the next Jokic?

We have gone through these fazes. Next Magic, next MJ, next LeBron, next Curry. Reality is they are never found.

Would like to see him in a Knick uniform. Then we could deal Mitch Robinson for another elite wing, although his defense would be missed.

I think there is that. Jokic is the fashion statement right now. This is beneficial to slower big men who can shoot and pass like Kai.

It's a possibility now. Kai is scheduled for a second mini-camp Jun 12-14 with the Knicks, unless another team, say the Mavericks, sign him prior. Kai already had his tryouts this year with the Mavericks and another team Utah. Orlando Magic is rumored to show interest and to invite Kai for a tryout.
