Cupcake places are very feminine and buoyant . . . I mean we've all seen the food network.

If you wonder why the country still views Birmingham as backwards, look no further than Mick.

Using "gay" as a generic negative term might have been okay a few decades ago, but the rest of the country is progressing. Perhaps you should too.

Fast-casual Italian restaurant coming downtown's Concord Center - Birmingham Business Journal

Another new one.

Quote:
Downtown Birmingham is getting a fast-casual Italian-inspired restaurant.
Pranzo has signed a 3,750-square-foot lease and will occupy space in the Concord Center at 2100 Third Avenue N., according to a release from Southpace Properties.

The restaurant will be run by a local group, and it will be Birmingham's first location.
McDavid said the restaurant will serve a variety of Italian dishes, including pizza, and will also serve salads.
Maybe this will be something along the lines of a Fazoli's, but maybe better?

If anyone hasn't noticed, Birmingham Breadworks has made quite a name for itself since last fall, located across from the new VA Clinic on Seventh South.

Open six to six and serving breakfast. They have a large comfortable dining area to accommodate a nice sweet or savory 'nosh' anytime of the day. Pizza too.

Hickory Tavern opens at Brookwood Village - Birmingham Business Journal

Quote:
Charlotte-based Hickory Tavern has opened at Brookwood Village.
The 6,000-square-foot restaurant opened last week between the eastern parking structure and Books-A-Million at the Homewood mall, according to the restaurant's Facebook page.
This is my favorite mall...to drive by. It looks so good from the street. Looking forward to the new theatre and the new changes they have in store for it. Even if I still, to this day...get confused trying to park in that Rubik's Cube of a parking deck.

It really does look good and meshes with the area.

My understanding is that a new area of outdoor shops will go in between Macy's east entrance and the new Grille29, which I think will be a great new attraction. That parking area on the east is underutilized.
