Good to hear about the old Western site. That plus The Tramont should give that stretch of Highland Ave/Red Mtn Expressway area some nice added density.

Anyone know if Consolidated Pipe & Supply has started work on their HQ (referenced above) on Lakeshore?

good to see more establishments opening up.

that Bodega location seems odd to me for a bar/restaurant. not really near a whole lot else in the immediate area (which is somewhat commercial / industrial).

It also seems like a strange name, given the constant confusion it will create between it and Bottega. Not sure they thought that one through.

A few infrastructure projects...

- A Resolution authorizing the Mayor on behalf of the City to enter into a
Standard Project Resolution Agreement and Plans with the State of
Alabama, acting by and through the Alabama Department of
Transportation, for Project No. HSIP-IM-I459 (321) Micro-milling,
OGFC Safety Treatment and Traffic Stripe of I-459 from Grants Mill
Road to 0.27 miles south of SR-7 (US-11). (Submitted by the Mayor)
(Recommended by the Director of Transportation)

*Pre-work for actual repaving work

- A Resolution authorizing the Mayor on behalf of the City to enter into a
Standard Project Resolution Agreement and Plans with the State of
Alabama, acting by and through the Alabama Department of
Transportation, for Project No. IM-I065 (535) Concrete Pavement
Rehab, Resurfacing and Guardrail Reset on I-65 from 16th Street North
Overpass to Daniel Payne Drive. (Submitted by the Mayor)
(Recommended by the Director of Transportation)

*Pre-work, repaving and concrete median work Much need attention finally that section of I-65

- A Resolution authorizing the Mayor on behalf of the City to enter into a

City of Birmingham section of I-65 between 1st Ave N and Highway 31 ALDOT recently talked about future work on that section.

Don't know if Yo Mama's is moving or the owners are creating a new restaurant at this location. Same block as The Harbert Center.

A Project Agreement between the City of Birmingham and Denidine Group, LLC dba
Yo’ Mama’s Restaurant (“Yo Mama’s”), under which Yo Mama’s will undertake a project to
lease, redevelop, rehabilitate, and enhance the existing premises located at 2098 – 4
th Avenue
North, Birmingham, Alabama 35203, into restaurant space that is 5,760 sq. ft., and seat
approximately 80-100 patrons at one time with an estimated investment by the Developer for
acquisition and improvements of the Project Site of approximately $1.7 million start-up cost. The
City will provide an incentive of up to $1,300,000.00) in support of the project pursuant to
Amendment No. 772 to the Constitution of Alabama (1901) (“Amendment No. 772”), which
authorizes the City to lend its credit to or grant public funds and things of value in aid of or to
any corporation or other business entity for the purpose of promoting the economic
development of the City.

Sounds like a move to expand. A space that seats 80-100 is a lot larger than their current space.

Yo'Mama is relocating to the Birmingham Parking Authority Deck #3 ground floor area.
