A lot depends on your intended use. If you want to use washable dishes. especially not plastic, carry blankets coats, water, groceries, toys, etc. You will need to get something with greater weight carrying capacity.

We looked at the options for full time living. We eventually eliminated travel trailers due to weight limitations and towing challenges. Then we eliminated 5th wheels for some of the same reasons (plus interior ceiling/shower height, generator size, our desire for a substantial solar system, and for large tanks. We also want something we can use while on the road, and my wife likes something more stable, she hate things that shake around when walking or move in a windstorm). However for me the biggest issue was weight carrying, power to get up mountains and the ability to two a fun car to use while living in the RV.
Still thinking about a mid-2000s Prevost?

Yes. Our plan is to first get an old beater. Probably gas, probably in the mid 30 foot range and do some long trials in it sto make sure we like the lifestyle. Even if it breaks down, we can just use in our driveway while work is being done on the house. We will use it for a few years and then junk it or sell it when it is completely shot, or when we are ready to start looking for a Prevost.

If economics intervene and prevent the Prevost idea, then we will likely look for a 2006 - 2006 Monaco, Beaver, or HR and upgrade it as necessary. We really like the Monaco companies layout and hominess. That is why we will look for a Prevost Royale if we can afford a Prevost.

Whatever we get will need some significan upgrades. We do not care about electronics, driving aids, televisions etc, but I want good systems - heater, generator, air suspension, solar system and batteries, toilets, etc.
