But are those kitties spayed/neutered and vaccinated? That question bothers me a little bit.

Yay, we have a (last page) now! instead of numbers. *happy dance*

lol

I found the misisng Barley again last night. ..only to have him sneak away to a new spot sometime during the night. At least I know he's being kept warm, and eating - even though I'm sure he thinks his life is in danger in this house with all these humans and other pesky kitties roaming about freely.

At least she waits until a decent hour; ours have determined that 4 a.m. is a good time to begin their quest for breakfast.

Mine starts whining at 5am, sometimes earlier. He whines for two reasons: he wants his breakfast, and to tell me that his "friend" is outside scratching on the door for her breakfast. His "friend" belongs to the manager, who doesn't put out much food, and doesn't put it out early. So I put bowl of Purina Cat Chow on my back porch, and who wants to snack during the day can. I bring it in when it starts getting dark, so the skunks don't eat it.

Our girl is close to yours-she hears the coffee maker start at 4:50am ,when it's finished-it beeps-then she starts bugging us for breakfast.
On the weekend it's a little later-5:15.
It is amazing how smart they are as to being in tuned to our rituals!

And how!
I started working from home in mid-December, and Weasie already has my break times down pat. No sooner do I log out of the call center I work for - BAM. Whether in the same room or across the house, she's headed my way with a greeting or demand. The flip side to this is that she has NO respect for the fact that I can't cater to her whims whenever she chooses.
Once the weather gets warmer, she'll like it better. A window can stay open for her to come and go according to her fancy. Having that kind of freedom five days a week will be a new experience, since we city dwellers would be fools to leave the house without securing it. For now, though, there'll still be daily incidents of, "It's MY break time; I'm between naps."

I had a cat in when I was the University that didn't seem to understand what 'study for finals' meant. Her idea was to be my study buddy by laying all over my books, papers, and enjoy the snack time when we'd go to the kitchen.

I saw seven feral cats at a house yesterday, and there may have been more.
