Probably too urban but available / fwiw. 3br Aztec, $147k.

The price range exists but these were almost the only decent looking homes on market near your preferred price point in each place right now.

There could be issues not immediately seen.

Didn't immediately find a spot in Pueblo West but look around.
Coming into the discussion a bit late...

You don't want that $165k place in Cortez. I live in Cortez, and I can tell you that it's not located in the best neighborhood. Prices have gone crazy here just like they have in the rest of Colorado. If you want anything halfway decent in my town, you are looking at $280k to 300k minimum. In addition, SW Colorado, including the 4 Corners region where Cortez is located has been going through an extremely bad drought and summer temps have climbed about 10 degrees from the average of even just 10 years ago. Between climate change and real estate value change, don't get too excited about anything out here.

The Lakes Region of New Hampshire has more reasonable housing prices than most of Colorado and an easy drive to most amenities and services.

" If anyone knows something that might fit the bill in Colorado (or Northern New Mexico, or further yet if it fits!), insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch. "
I think the OP ended up in Raton NM and disappeared, swallowed up by the mundane concerns of life in a small pass-through town ....
