Ok I was just reading through Billboard.com's list of artists they lost respect for in 2012 and I noticed that every single comment related to Obama and Democrats and somehow they got talking about abortion... Um what? Literally politics have saturated any and every website and forum as if thats all everyone wants to hear. Im tired of seeing in places where honestly it isnt even relevant to the topic or even slightly appropriate. It isnt even an election year and yet everybody seems to be talking about "liberal" media and agenda and conspiracies and so on and so forth. I dont know, maybe Im the weirdo who wanted to talk about music on a music site...

That's what happens when celebrities and entertainers interject themselves into the political arena just because they have a piece of the bully pulpit that can reach millions in a nano second.

I have noticed that, too. It is very frrustrating. Until recently, I have enjoyed reading the "comments" after certain news stories just to see other points of view RELEVANT to the story. It turns into personal attacks and political party-bashing. You have to read through a lot of banter and name-calling, finger-pointing, etc.

Yeah, I don't even read comments on online news articles anymore. They usually turn pretty negative pretty quick, and that has been on pretty much every site I have been to.

Actually I can't think of a website that allows comments that I have been to recently that hasn't had this type of situation.

LOL, I think it's just team spirit. It's annoying but people like to place themselves on one side or the other. Its like a sport.

I get tired of the political rhetoric from BOTH sides imposing itself into everything. I know that tensions are high but I wish that some things could remain politically neutral or one side or the other would just give it a break from kicking the "political horse" once and awhile.

It just seems to be mostly on the internet for now, most people in real life still get a long for the most part until somebody does make a political wise-crack or something. But there are even those that are outspoken in real life and always have to put their $.02 in.

Get a Yahoo! account. Almost every article on there has comments about politics and how Obama is doing a terrible job or how some other political party is doing something bad. It's like this:

Article: 2+2=4

Comment: Obama Sucks!

Sometimes, when they have articles about science and the history of life on earth or geological history, the ultra conservative creationist Christians come out and start going on about creationism and all that stuff. You get a few Atheists and liberals too. It's like Yahoo! has become some kind of battlefield.
