Found this news article on the Daily Mail online yesterday, it has also been reported in the Huffington Post and on nj.com but its no where to be found in the mainstream US media.
To me this is a rather important incident especially considering what happened only a few short days later.
So my question is how does the US media, CNN, FOX, MSNBC etc miss something like this and how many other news stories are being ignored ?
Except I saw it posted on the 25th April and this piece was posted on both NYPost and CNN a full day later and still 9 days after it happened and the NYPost is hardly a national news source.
Our ideas of mainstream media are obviously different as I wasn't aware the Huffington Post has a news channel on TV
The job of the media is to support the efforts to increase surveillance of people, tighten security to the point where we have armies of police and so on.
The News Media is corporate owned and operated, if a sponsor doesn’t like how the story is going to be told on the news tonight, it’s changed to fit their needs, not the public's. Corporate lobbyists owned news is all we get in this country.
For years I have gone to foreign newspapers and sites online to read about affairs in the U.S. I also find interesting and important stories about what is going on in the rest of the world that Americans aren't being told.
Another revealing thing to do is to read the comments by readers after these news stories and see what the rest of the world REALLY thinks of us.
Pay close attention news stories when something "big" is going on in the U.S. news and dominating the headlines. Bills get passed, things get done behind the scenes when we are not paying attention because of the 'big" stories.
The Daily Mail publishes lots of things US media outlets don't. If the US news says, "Man arrested in child porn sting," the Daily Mail will have his name and a photo to boot, days before the US will air that info (if at all).
When I post NYPost links I'm usually told that the NYPost is like a tabloid these days and not to be taken seriously.
I also go foreign to get my news as it's usually a day or two ahead of the US.
US MSM are either playing catchup due to lack of journalists or catchup so not to be seen as "missing the news".
