I found a cool series of pictures with an old one or two followed by a new one or two.

There is stuff here mostly in Dayton, but all over the suburbs and nearby small towns like Piqua and Xenia.

It's a huge time-waster if you keep a map window open and look for all the locations and check out the street views. Some of the demolished buildings are still visible in google street view.

Yeah, I have looked through that before. Always interesting to see how things change. I love looking at old pictures of downtown Dayton.

I wish there were pictures of Dayton when the streets W of Ludlow and E of St Clair were all residential and kids used to play on streets that were dirt and only horse-drawn stuff were the 'vehicles' on them.

As far as I know, there's nothing. There are some pictures of some houses, but nothing looking down a street.

The book For the Love of Dayton, has one street shot down Franklin St from Ludlow showing Emmanuel Catholic Church ( when it had great towers instead of the stubs they have now ). That's about the only good street shot I've ever found. Even drawings would be cool.

The one street that has good views is Main St. That book has many shots N and S taken during many decades past from the 1860's to the modern era where you can see stuff like hotels, churches, etc. that are long gone, but at one time had throngs of people coming and going.

Monument has those three old houses ( one used to be on Third ) and that's pretty cool.

Just went shooting around downtown. Dreary, cold, windy, hazy. Pretty hostile. Going to fire up Photoshop and see if I have anything worth posting.

You used a camera, yes? Because you would be on the Dayton tv stations if you did the other kind of "shooting"

I could imagine! Especially if you spent much time west of Ludlow with the government buildings and Sinclair. Brutalist central out there! Best of luck with the shots.
