Said all 4 of them need to be removed and explained the severity on a scale of 1-10 that mine is a 10.
I asked him is local anesthesia an option and he said absolutely not as it is required that I am sleep and that general anesthesia is the only option because of the severity of the situation and that I don't need to be awake for any of it.
He said he recommends a coronectomy on one of the teeth because if he pulls the tooth completely, there is a 15-20 percent chance of permanent loss in taste.
Has anyone here been required to do general anesthesia for wisdom teeth extraction.
He has very good reviews on google. Over 1000 5 stars.

I had mine taken out in boot camp and only had local. I did end up falling asleep during it by that was because I was exhausted.

I just had one removed last month and they suggested general, I accepted willingly. Having removals just for a couple of implants in the past with local, I figured this would be worse, and I didn't want to go through it.
Just remembered, my dental insurance did not cover the general, it was an additional $125.

It's not required. I had 3 removed with just local.
I had my wisdom teeth removed as a teen and I'm old now so don't recall details but it seems like I "went to sleep" - but I was in the dentist's chair, not an OR, not strapped down or anything, no IV nearby - must have given me something orally that put me to sleep or maybe put a mask of ether or something on me? Would that be considered "general," per the terms you're using?
