Wow. Less than a week and it's going on 32,000 views. Give it about another week and it will be auto tuned remixes to this.

But in all seriousness. This is how many residents feel unfortunately. I'm not sure how hard it is to run a major city in decline but these fools in office now are a fu*king embarrassment. Dave Bing from what I can see is at least "trying" to do what's right and help fix this mess. Snydely on the other hand, is a fuc*ing snake in my eyes. Let's hope they get someone good to run against him come election time.

Bingo and Snydely lol, that's a good one.

I think Melinda is probably much closer to your typical Detoilet resident than Dan Gilbert's delusions of the "young, hip professionals" who are supposedly flocking to the city. Young, hip professionals don't want to live next to ignoramuses like Melinda.

Melinda doesn't mention the Clowncil. They deserve this more than Snyder, who is relatively new to this mess. I understand the way they get elected is about to change, too, going by district rather the most popular on the list of nominees.

Come away, Melinda, come in and close the door.

That's nothing but a city, that once had jobs before.

She has a point in expressing a basic truism, you really cannot expect much from the city when you have 60,000 abandoned homes or whatever it is.

Nearly every street is a depressing reminder of just how bad things are.

Hard to make much progress when the blight is constantly, unceasingly, unremittingly in your face at every single direction.

It's too bad they don't at least have enough money to knock down all the abandoned homes.

Every street? In the entire city? I don't think so.

Yeah, let's nitpick.

What percentage of blocks in the entire city would you say that if you took a walk around your block alone--forget going 2 or 3 blocks in any direction--you would not be exposed to severe blight?

I would guess far less than 10 percent.

So let's make sure we're clear. You're saying more than 90% of ALL blocks in Detroit city limits have severe blight? But we still manage to have 5,000 to 6,000 ppsm in the average neighborhood in Detroit . Hmmm ok suuurre
